Gardening

24/3/15
Today I started to plant bean and pea seeds as it's a Biodynamic Fruit Seed Day, so I planted broad beans, string beans, soya beans, borlotti beans, chickpeas, peas, cucumbers, gherkins, tomatoes, squash, caraway and bell peppers. A fruit seed day is for any plant you from which you use the seeds, or that has seeds inside. I have already planted tomatoes and peppers but they don’t seem to be doing very well and I might have planted them too early, which sometimes results in the seed splitting with the cold or drowning... I hope they grow this time.

Today is a Biodynamic Root Day, i.e. for plants from which you would eat or use the root, so I'm going to go and plant some potatoes, that is if it stops raining, we've had hail here today in between showers of rain. It’s lovely and sunny now, what I would call proper Spring weather. If I get time I might sow some beetroot and spring onions too...
